Earn rewards while securing Opside

Staking is a public good for the Opside ecosystem. Any user, with any amount of IDE, can help secure the network and earn rewards in the process.

Stake your IDE by running a validator

  • Receive maximum rewards directly from the protocol for keeping your validator properly functioning and online.
  • Run home hardware and personally contribute to the security and decentralization of the Opside network.
  • Remove trust, and never relinquish control of the keys to your funds.

Why stake your IDE?

Earn fresh IDE
Rewards are given for actions that help the network reach consensus. You'll earn rewards for running software that properly batches transactions into new blocks and checks the work of other validators because that's what keeps the chain running securely.
Full control
The network becomes stronger against attacks as more IDEs are staked which means it requires more IDE to control the majority of the network. To become a threat, you may need to hold majority of validators. Reversely, you should be able to control the majority of IDEs in the system- that's a lot!
Network security
Stakers don't need to do energy-intensive proof-of-work computations to participate in securing the network, meaning staking nodes can run on relatively modest hardware using very little energy.

How it works?

1. Get some hardware: You need to run a node to stake.

2. Sync an execution layer client.

3. Sync a consensus layer client.

4. Generate your keys and load them into your validator client.

5. Monitor and maintain your node.

While active, you will earn IDE rewards, which will be periodically deposited into your withdrawal address.

Get started on the Staking Launchpad

The Staking Launchpad is an open-source application that will help you become a staker. It will guide you through choosing your clients, generating your keys, and depositing your IDE to the staking deposit contract.
